Master Carlos L. Des Jardin
Master Carlos L. Des Jardin, a 6th Degree Black Belt and the owner of Kickboxing Plus Taekwondo, began his martial arts journey at the age of four. Growing up, he sought a positive outlet to channel his energy and avoid the negative influences around him. Martial arts became his sanctuary, offering him a path of discipline, focus, and strength. Over the years, Carlos honed his skills, won over 50 championships, and trained with some of the world’s top martial artists. It wasn’t just about perfecting technique—it was about transforming himself and finding purpose in the practice.
In 1998, Carlos took the leap to open his own academy with a vision to refine his craft. But soon, he realized his true calling was not only to train but to teach, inspire, and lead others on their own martial arts journeys. As the academy grew, Carlos faced many challenges, including a devastating fire that displaced him and other business owners. Despite these setbacks, his resilience and dedication to his students allowed him to persevere. The support of his community and his unwavering passion for martial arts fueled his determination to rebuild, ultimately relocating to Matawan where his academy continues to thrive.
With over 25 years of experience, Carlos has witnessed firsthand the transformative power of martial arts.
